May 28, 2012 - Seymour, Mo, Memorial Day

On the Sunday prior to Memorial Day, we went to Springfield to the original Bass Pro store. My, what a place. You honestly could spend a couple of days seeing everything there. Beautiful exhibits of "stuffed" animals and aquatics. After that we went to the famous Lamberts Restuarant, Home of the Throwed Roll. Had a great meal as usual. You must go hungry because they fed you way too much food. There is always at least an hour wait. No body minds the wait because it is worth it. No credit cards - cash or checks only. Cousins Bob and Elaine...

May 26, 2012 - Dale's 55th High School Reunion

The primary reason for the visit to Dale's hometown was to attend his 55th High School reunion and the highlight of that event was seeing his first teacher, Miss Mudd who is now Dr. Winnie Bowers. Miss Mudd graduated from high school the June prior to Dale entering first grade that fall. She took 10 hours of education that summer, passed a test and at 16 years of age, taught school that fall in a one room school house which had all 6 grades of elementary school. Of course, she went on to get her degrees winding up being a PhD in education....
