May 24, 2006 - Day 3

Wednesday - 5-24-06 Starting mileage - 53,040 Only one small mishap last night, John broke one of the lounging chairs. Thank goodness it wasn't the nice big one. It was the chair we got with the unit, so it really wasn't a big loss. It was truly funny, tho. He sat down, as gracefully as a large man can, and proceeded to fall all the way back to the floor. I guess the momentum carried him all the way down. I was laughing hysterically at him, looking at his feet in the air with such a stunned look on his face. He looked so cute. I'm still...

May 2, 2006 - Troubles on the road

Today was the worst travel day in the more than 13 years we have been traveling, in fact the worst since we started RVing in the mid 70's. West of St. Louis we had a trailer tire tread separate but not go flat. Since Judi was following in the car we knew something was wrong long before we might have. Pulled off the interstate into a parking lot and put the spare on. Hit the road then about 40 miles later the passenger rear tire on the truck exploded, about 1 mile from the exit where we were staying in Columbia, MO. Called road service and...
