We spent Monday afternoon, all day Tuesday, and Wednesday morning at my sister and brother in laws cabin between Monroe city and Perry, Missouri. We went to an awesome Ben Franklin store and a junk shop in Monroe City. Sue made fried crappies for supper and then we had a bonfire. Had a great time spending time with them as always. Wednesday it is off on the next leg of our journey. Talk to you tomorrow night.

May 17, 2012 - Mark Twain Lake
Wednesday, May 16, 2012 – Our mail did not arrive at the post office. We hardly expected it to since we called on Monday and two days does not seem enough time for mail to travel from Livingston, TX to Heber Springs, AR. So today is the house cleaning day. We decided to clean the trailer and wash clothes. It took longer to wash and dry two loads of clothes at the Laundromat then it took to dust, clean, and sweep out the trailer. Sure like cleaning house that quick!! We also moved to the JFK COE Park just down the road from Dam Site COE...

Sep 6, 2011 - Monroe City, Missouri
9/6 – 9/18 It took us 2 days to travel 201 miles to Monroe City, Missouri (US218, US61, US24). We stopped for a Wal-Mart night in Keokuk, Iowa. Our campsite for this stop was in Indian Creek Recreation Area, another COE project. It was a beautiful place to park our house. The squirrels were busy knocking the acorns off the trees so they could collect them and bring them to their winter storage area. Unfortunately our house was under one of the trees that they were working on - it created quite a racket when the acorns hit our fiberglass...

May 15, 2011 - Monroe County, Missouri
The five star Corp of Engineer park lured us into this section of Missouri. With 2,775 acres of shore line it is both beautiful and large! As is our custom, after setting up, we took off for "town". Monroe City's history has been entirely shaped by the c. 1800's migration of folks from Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Settling along the river the migrants brought characteristic antebellum archecture and cultivated similar crops as back East. Soon their new area was referred to as "Little Dixie". Missouri claims at least 18 famous people....

May 2, 2011 - May 2, 3, 4, & 5th
I went in to work Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 am so that I could take off a couple of hours early on Wednesday. When I got off Wednesday at 2:30 I rushed home so that we could head to Kelsey's in Knob Knoster. We got to Sedalia around 5:15 and Kelsey and Brett met us at Coltons for dinner. After dinner we went to their apartment, watched American Idol, visited and hit the sack as we had plans to leave at 5:20 am and head for Springdale, Arkansas where we are picking up our new Mobile Suites fifth wheel. We woke up and left Kelsey's earlier...

Apr 28, 2011 - April 28 thru May 1 - WORK WORK WORK
We devoted these four days to getting a lot done around the house. The weather was really nice so we ended up working the entire weekend outside. We mowed, weeded, spread lots of mulch and did some work on the exterior of the house. Saturday, April 30th we spent most of the afternoon and evening at Mom & Dad's house as we had a carry-in and game night in honor of Mom's 80th birthday. Sunday, May 1st we finished up our outdoor work and prepared for the work week ahead of us. (Janet)

Apr 24, 2011 - Easter Sunday
We are camped at Indian Creek Campground. Terryn woke up and she threw some easter eggs on ground in front of their camper for me. The easter bunny had already been there and scattered easter eggs. After Kolton got up, they excitedly ran around their camp site picking up easter eggs. We walked over to the playground with Terryn so she could play on the monkey bars. While she was playing I looked in the woods nearby for mushrooms but didn't find any. Kristyn, Terry and the kids left since they need to get home to get ready for school and...

Apr 20, 2011 - Met with Ed & Marilyn for Dinner
Bob texted me at work and told me that we were invited to meet up with Ed & Marilyn for dinner this evening at one of the Mexican restaurants in Hannibal. Bob met up with me after I got off work and we went to Hannibal. We had a nice visit with Ed & Marilyn and two other couples that are their friends. Ed & Marilyn seem just as excited about this coming winter in Texas as we are. We were able to get home in time to watch part of American Idol. (Janet)

Apr 18, 2011 - On the road again...headed home
Left the park at 7:40 am. Sighted 3 deer laying in a wooded area as we were leaving the park. We stopped and took pictures. Also saw several turkeys. This is a nice big park. Bob drove the 238 miles to home stopping only to grab a bite to eat at Bowling Green. We arrived home at 1:30, took some stuff out of the camper and loaded some stuff in the camper and away we went to Indian Creek Park. Found a site (#5), backed the camper in and set it up. I went home after we got the camper set up and Bob stayed at the park to do some of his...

Apr 17, 2011 - Heading Back Home
We decided to make an early start and left the RV Park at 6:20 am in order to beat the traffic, stopped somewhere on the route and ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Bob drove 455 miles to Souther Illinois where we set up camp at 2:40 pm at the Wayne Fitzgerald State Park at Rend Lake. Bob built a fire and we sat back, relaxed & enjoyed the lake view. We roasted hotdogs but only got to dream of roasting marshmallows as I forgot to pack any in the camper (Boo Hoo!)...(bet I'll have some in the camper the next time). Bob later watched TV and I...

Apr 16, 2011 - Last Full Day of the RV Dreams Rally
Bob attended the session: Boondocking/Solar. I joined him for the topics: Choosing Campgrounds/RV Parks and Packing Your RV for Full-Timing. The afternoon was scheduled for Open Rig Walk-Throughs. I walked through a couple RV's and then headed to open our RV up for walk-throughs. We had several people come through our camper. Bob went to a few more of the RV's. This evening we had a catered dinner of tender rib and boneless chicken and the fixins. Very good meal. We visited for awhile and stayed for some of the 70's Party that followed the...
