We arrived in Mansfield, MO late in the afternoon. As was the case on several other stops we didn't know where we would we stay. We assumed that there would be some sort of motel or hotel in the area. We were wrong! Mansfield is a really small town with one or maybe two stop lights. As you enter the town you pass a Tasty Freeze (think small Dairy Queen) which we smiled at as we passed. Little did we know this was almost the only place to eat - period. May 22, 2007 - Mansfield , Missouri
We toured Laura Ingall Wilder's house and museum with book store. This house is the house that she wrote all her books , like THe Little House on The Praire. Laura and her husband Almanzo lived in the wood frame house that was built from materials from the farm. ( Rocky Ridge Farm ) She died in 1957 and the home is now preserved as a memorial museum .
