Aug 9, 2012 - visiting old friends.

We traveled a total of 125 miles today. We are staying in Gary and Doris Pitt's back yard. It sure is nice to have friends with hookups in there yard. They really have a nice house they bought last year and have been working on it for a year. We went out for another streak dinner. We met Gary and Doris in the valley last year and have really enjoyed visiting with them.

Don't wake me up

May 14, 2008 - Is that the same guy???

So as some of you may have noticed, we did not manage to post any entries last night. After a dinner show in Branson and then a few sidetrips into random states, we did not arrive here in Harrisonville, MO until around midnight. We pulled up to the creepy-looking Slumber Inn motel (Lisa likens it to the movie vacancy), and rung the doorbell to check in. It certainly is not one of the high class motels on our trip and I think that we could both agree that we miss the Super 8 in Branson. Needless to say, we didn't get internet until today but...

Marshall Sister Excursion through the Great GREAT Midwest

Jul 9, 2007 - just a day on the road

We left this morning in beautiful weather and rode US highways for awhile. Then it became time to get on the dreaded interstate! We had planned on riding I-29 down through Iowa and through Kansas City before getting back on good old red highways. And ride I-29 we did. Unfortunately, about 40 miles north of Kansas City we watched the thunderstorms begin to build and build and build. We opted to stop and put our rain gear on and we timed it just perfectly.
