Nov 14, 2012 - Roaring River Springs
We visited the Roaring River Spring and Hatchery today, it is one of the most beautiful springs we have seen. The state of Missouri has certainly been blessed with an abundance of springs as there are more than twenty-nine hundred officially recorded. The Missouri Department of Conservation's five trout hatcheries have taken advantage of this resource in a big way. Out of these five hatcheries, four use spring water to raise rainbow trout. Together these five hatcheries produce more than 2.5 million trout per year. Roaring River Spring...

Jul 31, 2009 - A Little Trip to Branson, Missouri
Friday, July 31, 2009.....Roaring River State Park, Missouri We finally have a pretty day. It was chilly during the night.....our kind of sleeping weather. Joe got up early this morning to go fishing. I didn't get up until 8 AM. Well, I found out I was locked in. Thank goodness for cell phones, I called Joe and explained the problem. He came back to the RV pretty quickly. We're not sure what happened but even though he locked the door from outside, I should have been able to unlock it from the inside. The lock wouldn't budge. Well, after...

Jul 30, 2009 - It's a Jungle Out There :-)
Thursday, July 30, 2009......Roaring River State Park, Missouri We have another cloudy, muggy day. We got up and made a simple breakfast...lemon poppyseed muffins with blueberries added. They were easy because we used one of those mixes but the real blueberries we added made them extra good. Joe didn't sleep well....I think he had a little too much stuff to eat yesterday. But that probably won't stop him the next time :-) So we're just loafing around. Joe did the breakfast dishes while I figured up the banking. Then he sat down to read with...

Jul 29, 2009 - Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Wednesday, July 29, 2009 .....Roaring River State Park, Missouri Today we drove about 45 minutes to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It was a very pretty ride, everything is so green. The fields are flat on top of the ridges, the mountains and valleys are enough to make you oooh & ahhhh :-) Missouri has gotten plenty of rain this year, that's for sure. Just as we arrived at a parking area in Eureka Springs the rain poured....I mean POURED! We just sat in the truck and passed up getting the shuttle that arrived at that time. It didn't rain that...

Jul 28, 2009 - Roaring River State Park, Missouri
Tuesday.....July 28, 2009 Roaring River State Park, Missouri We woke up to a sunny day. Whick quickly changed to a mostly cloudy morning during breakfast. Joe got his fishing gear together and headed over to Roaring River near the hatchery. That's near the hatchery, not in it, like Joe would have liked :-) Queeny and I took a walk around the Campground and along the river. Roaring River runs in this area along our campground. Queeny and I went back to the RV after our walk. I hooked her up outside. It is still wet out there by the RV. We...

Jul 27, 2009 - To Roaring River State Park
July 27, 2009 Roaring River State Park, Missouri We arrive here around noon but not until after a few wrong turns. You sure can't trust Map Quest. We followed the directions we got from them to a "T" and it leed us down two wrong roads heading to Table Rock Road?? We had to turn around and back track to hwy 86 and then head west again. Luckily we had a Missouri map with us and found Roaring River State Park on it. I learned a lesson....check the map even if you do have directions from a web site. It was a sunny hot day on the way down to...
