Aug 10, 2016 - Chanute KS – Santa Fe Safari RV Campground

Leaving Branson and Table Rock Lake, we headed for Chanute KS, the former home of NUWA 5th wheels. That’s where our camper was built and Rog wanted to stop there and get some parts for our rig. While there, we took look at a newer 5th wheel they had for sale. It was a 2013 Discover America made by NUWA. It’s the same basic floor plan as our Hitchhiker II LS, but a little bigger. We thought it might be a good idea to trade in our 2008 for the newer model. Turns out, the exterior of our camper is in much better shape than the 2013 we looked...

Retired at Last!

Aug 8, 2016 - Branson West MO – Table Rock Lake – Indian Point COE Campground

As our nephew John said when he found out where we were now: “So you finally found Table Rock”. He and his wife, Carol, love this place and he’s been trying to get us to stop here for a looooong time. They had to plan a York family reunion to get us here, but it worked. We stayed in a Corps of Engineers campground right down the road from the resort most of the family stayed at. Before the official event, Melissa (niece), her husband, Nik, and their kids, Dallas and Savannanh came over to the campground one day and spent time at the beach...

Dec 14, 2012 - Part 2: Silver Dollar City

We spent another five hours in the park today. We saw the stage production of the Dicken's Christmas Carol. This original musical adaptation of the classic by Charles Dickens was incredible!! The show had a wonderful live band, a extremely talented cast, astounding special effects, stunning Victorian scenery and period costuming. It was outstanding! I wanted to take a ton of pictures, but they were not allowed. After this show, we had about 20 minutes to get to the next show where we saw The Living Nativity. Another incredible show telling...

Dec 13, 2012 - Silver Dollar City

We spent about five hours at Silver Dollar City today. We went to see the holiday classic, It's a Wonderful Life. This is one of our favorite Christmas shows and they did an excellent job of bringing it to life on the stage. In this original musical adaptation of Frank Capra's 1946 film, small town businessman George Bailey discovers the true value of life, family and friends with a little help from his guardian angel,Clarence. The show featured dazzling special effects and a talented cast of 14 actors and singers. My favorite part was when...

Nov 29, 2012 - Trail of Lights

We drove through the Trail of Lights in Branson last night. It reminded us of the one we drove through in Charleston, S.C. The cost was $12 each, it was worth every penny. After the tour, you also get a ticket to visit the 230 foot Inspiration Tower. You can see all the lights for miles below from the tower. I did my best to take good pictures, but night pictures are not my specialty. I am adding some of the best ones, please excuse the blurs etc. Paste of information below: The Trail of Lights featured a drive-thru animation display that...
