May 24, 2012 - Hermann to Augusta

Even though this was a shorter day in terms of miles, it was our toughest day by far. The reason for this is because 1) our legs are starting to tire, 2) the temperature jumped about 10 degrees to around 90, and 3) the wind was blowing from the SE with wind gusts up to 35 mph. Despite these challenges, we saw some pretty scenery. Much of this trail we are quite familiar with. Several times I have come to this part, especially from Treloar to Augusta. At the Treloar trailhead, I literally lay down on the wooden bench and napped for about 10...
