Aug 16, 2018 - Hollywood Casino RV Park (8/14 - 8/18/18)

Instead of going into Memphis we decided to stay in Tunica, MS. There are 7 casinos within a 5 mile radius. We stayed at the Hollywood Casino RV Park. It is a very nice park. All the sites are paved, have full hookups and an area to park your car. We were in site #67 which was in the very last row of the park. That row is all pull-thru sites. It also backs up to a very nice golf course. It cost us $24.60 per night. We initially paid for 3 nights, but went back and added 2 more. After we got all set up, we wandered around the casino to check...

Oct 6, 2013 - journey continued

Just relaxed today. Went up to the lodge and played some pool, watched some football, and went for a drive. We finally got a hold of our friend in Bay St Louis and got some bad news. He had a stroke and has been on dialysis which hospitalized him. We were able to talk to his family. They are very pleased to hear that we will be stopping by to see him. We will be travelling there this next week. His nickname is Taz. Please include him in your prayers. Otherwise we are still enjoying our retirement.

Oct 5, 2013 - Day 5

Well we made it for five days and we are both still alive. It rained all night last night and into this morning. Had a little thunder and lightning with it. I think it is part of the storm down in the Gulf (Karen). We waited it out and didn't get started until 9:30. Again---not on a schedule. Took 55 S. Lots of cotton and wheat fields. It has really been nice for travelling due to the overcast skies. Very hot though--close to 90 today and humid. No Walmarts on this route so we have to get gas at a regular station--$3.04/gal. Stopped to have...

Oct 16, 2009 - Robinsonville, MS

We left Red Bay, Alabama and traveled to Robinsonville, MS. to meet up with Barb and Dan from NY. I worked with Dan for many years we ran into them on the road last year in ST. Louis so they gave us a call and said where are you so as we were only 3 hours away and had to wait for some doors to come in so we drove over to meet up with them and spend some quality time in the Casino's catching up. It's cool here in Robinsonville high of only 54 degrees today but no rain and most importantly no snow. We will have to return to Red Bay on Monday...

Apr 2, 2008 - Robinsonville, Mississippi - Or How To Weather a Storm

We are about 30 miles south of Memphis, a somewhat rapid exit from that city after Don and Bonnie's problems. Say you're right on the border of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. And there are storm watches for heavy rain, lightening, hail and possible tornados. And the Mississippi River is cresting while it is raining upstream. Where do you go? To Tunica, of course, where there are ten casinos within a five mile radius. Several rv parks with parking on pavement so there is plenty of water, but not mud. And those great big buildings in...
