May 23, 2018 - Pass Christian, MS (TLC Wolf River RV Resort)

4/10/18 – 5/23/18 While driving on I-10 East at 70 mph for several hours our dash alarms sounded and flashed “Stop Engine”. We were about ten miles from our exit to TLC Wolf River RV Resort in Pass Christian, MS. Other than the alarm, the only unusual reading was the oil pressure reading about 30 psi. Under the current conditions our normal readings would be about 40 psi. so that reading was not alarming. As we pulled over the alarm stopped so we resumed our travels but only for a mile or so before the Stop Engine alarm sounded again. We...

Dec 31, 2017 - Part 2 – Pass Christian, Mississippi

At several visitor centers before we got to New Orleans, we were encouraged to take the “Hop-On Hop-Off City Tour”. We chose to buy the three-day pass, which at $49 per person was only $10 more than the one-day pass and provided us with free guided walking tours of the Garden District and the French Quarter in addition to the excellent commentary of a variety of local narrators on the double-decker buses. Our first day, we parked at the Basin Street Station ($5 for 10 hours on weekdays; $15 for 24 hours on Saturday, which was also Sugar...

Dec 31, 2017 - Part 1 - Pass Christian, Mississippi

We have several membership parks around New Orleans, all about an hour’s drive from the French Quarter. Since we prefer to spend our nights away from the hustle and bustle of big cities (and our membership parks are a whole lot cheaper for us than big-city RV parks), we decided to stay east of New Orleans in TLC Wolf River Resort near Pass Christian, Mississippi. Another reason to stay in this park was the availability of a permanently-placed, little, rental travel trailer for our son Jonnie to sleep in while he was visiting us for twelve...

Dec 27, 2017 - Pass Christian, MS

12/9/17 – 12/27/17 We arrived at TLC Wolf River RV Resort in Pass Christian, MS on Dec. 9 for our 17 day stay. We have been members of this park since the mid 1980’s and it is our home park for Coast-to-Coast. Originally this park was called Five Star RV Resort and we liked the location, but the park needed a lot of maintenance and repairs. Then hurricane Katrina devastated this area, and put the campground under 12 -14 feet of water. Following that, FEMA essentially took over the grounds to house FEMA workers and some displaced residents....

May 21, 2017 - Pass Christian, MS

We made a two day stop at Gulf Coast RV Resort in Beaumont, TX. This is favorite stop for us; it’ a first class park that is very close to I-10, has wide concrete roads and sites, good solid utilities, includes a continental breakfast every morning and since it’s a Passport America park we stay at half price. Tough to beat that combination. April 16th we arrived at our home park, TLC Wolf River RV Resort in Pass Christian, MS. Our engine coolant was low when we were ready to leave the Rio Grande Valley and we could see no obvious signs of a...

Mar 6, 2017 - Wolf River

Wolf River After the Mardi Gras parade at Sunset King Lake in DeFuniak Springs, things slowed down to an even slower pace – LOL. We enjoyed our week at Sunset King – it was a nice park and everybody was really friendly. We met some new friends on Wednesday that pulled in for the night in a Grand Design Solitude. I stopped by their place while walking Scout and met Dan and Pam. We chatted about our RVs and I invited them over to see Steve and Mo. We chatted for a while and I learned that Pam likes crafting as much as I do. While we talked...

2017 Life in our RV

Dec 8, 2016 - Pass Christian, MS - TLC Wolf River RV Resort

November 3 thru December 8, 2016 We arrived at TLC Wolf River Resort in Pass Christian, MS on November 3rd. As members of this park we always enjoy our stay here in familiar surroundings. We enjoyed the area enough to extend our two week stay to five weeks. With the exception of just a few days we were blessed with wonderful weather. However, as we have learned in the past when it rains downpours of three to six inches are not uncommon and this year was no exception. The Gulf of Mexico is one heck of a weather maker. Our park is about four...

Jun 7, 2016 - Pass Christian, MS - TLC Wolf River Resort

4/25/15 thru 6/7/16 Pass Christian, MS After we left Wildwood, FL we made an overnight stop at Beaver Lake RV Campground in Quincy, FL. This is a regular overnight Passport America stop for us. It’s not much of a campground but it is very convenient stop about 100 yards off I-10. It’s a small no frills campground with 30 pull-thru full hook-up solid grass sites. We arrived at TLC Wolf River RV Resort in Pass Christian, MS on 4/25/16 for a two week visit and departed the park on 6/7/16, six weeks later. If you’re going to be delayed, this...

Jun 1, 2015 - Pass Christian and Mississippi Gulf Coast

5/9/15 - Heading back east we once again stop overnight at the Gulf Coast RV Resort in Beaumont, TX. Feed us a free breakfast and you’re likely to see us back. 5/10/15 thru 6/1/15 – Back at TLC Wolf River Resort, our home park in Pass Christian, MS. Although we had the threat of storms some of the time including a couple of tornado warnings during our Mississippi visit, we were grateful that we made the decision to get out of Texas. Since we left, one of the Texas resorts we planned on staying at was closed down for repairs after severe...

Apr 22, 2015 - Florida to Mississippi

March 24th – April 7th Now we are back in Wildwood and we went to the movies Friday night to see American Sniper at the nearby movie theater in the Brownwood section of The Villages. Pat was not particularly interested in seeing this movie while it was a “must see” for Ralph. We both left the theater feeling it was a great movie and we would recommend it to all adults. Much of our time during this, our last visit to Three Flags Resort in Wildwood for the season, was spent on Ralph nursing his tendonitis in his left leg and the nasty bout of...

Mar 1, 2014 - Pass Christian, MS

Pass Christian, MS (2/16/14 thru 3/1/14) We are now at the TLC Wolf River Resort in Pass Christian, MS. This is a membership park that we have been members of since 1991. The park was falling into neglect but when Hurricane Katrina hit on August 29, 2005 the result was 12 to 14 feet of water in the campground even though the park is about 2.5 miles from the gulf. During the Katrina recovery efforts FEMA used the park to house FEMA workers as well as some misplaced local people. Our first visit back was about two years after Katrina. By that...

Jun 2, 2013 - Soggy start

1st stop was Pass Christian where we pulled into our home park. We have a campground membership with Coast to Coast and will finally get to take advantage of it. Since this is our home park, we only pay $5.00/nt. The park has been slowly recovering from Katrina damage, follwed by Ike damage. There are level, graveled sites with full hookups, larger pull through grassy sites with water/electric, and a large section of ownership lots. It is located about 5 miles from the Gulf Coast beaches and the Wolf River (more of a bayou) flows through...
