Sep 24, 2014 - Olive Branch, Mississippi

We left Yuma, TN for a 2 1/2 hour drive to Olive Branch, Mississippi, which is just south of Memphis, TN. We have friends that we met at our RV club in California who now live in Olive Branch and when we come through this area, we stop to see them. Before we left Yuma, the devil child…aka Rocky, was really acting up, so Jay asked if I could find a dog park along the way to Olive Branch. This way, the devil child could get out his excess energy and hopefully be somewhat behaved when he met our friends. Well, it turns out that Bartlett, TN, a...

Aug 26, 2011 - Olive Branch, MS

Well, our day started off with breakfast down the street from the RV park at a local spot. Great food and everyone knew everyone else….except us! Very local place. We got on the road relatively early this morning as we had a 4 hour drive to south of Memphis, TN. We’re off to visit friends of ours from California who have retired to Olive Branch, Mississippi. We met Jan and Charles in 2005 through one of our RV clubs in California and really hit it off. We’ve traveled together in our RV’s, visited them at their home near Palm Springs and Jan...

Jun 18, 2011 - The Queen's Shower

We had Jade's baby shower today. Hazelee is due on my birthday, August 13th. It was a beautiful shower. Jade's mom, Anna, out did herself. Jade received a dress for Hazelee that was made out of my husband (her brother), Josh's shirt. It's adorable. I made Hazelee some onesies. One had a picture of me and Jade in front of a sign that says "Westside Shorties" and I wrote on there "I'm the 3rd musketeer", one had a pic of Jade's spoiled rotten dog Indy floating in a pool, and one had a pic of Meatwad. Can't wait to meet you, Hazelee!

Apr 25, 2010 - Elvis, greasy food & more

Hi Ya'll! If it's Memphis, it's Graceland. I think every tourist that comes here visits it. It is smaller than you would think for a super star home and decorated in gaudy 50's style. Most moving of all is visiting Elvis' grave. As with the news of his death, I got teary eyed. After Graceland, we visited Sun Studio, where Elvis recorded his first record. Sun Studio also signed up stars like Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. On to Beale Street, home of the honky tonks playing rock n roll and jazz, day and night. It is always...

Apr 21, 2010 - Finding Elvis

Hello, Well, we arrived here in Olive Branch, Mississippi, coming from Nashville. Olive Branch is located about 25 minutes from Memphis. We are staying with another Evergreen host. All of our hosts have been so wonderful to us. Here, we each have our own bedroom and bathroom...we are really getting spoiled. Since my last update, we did a few more things in Nashville: a Redneck Tour of the city, which included lots of jokes and horsing around. We also got to shop at Opry Mills, which is very much like Potomac and Arundel Mills Malls in our...
