Except it wasn't funny!! Before I have to make another confession, let's go back and start at the beautiufl sunrise this morning, the colors of the new day reflected in the lake, what a positive way to start the day!! The night in the tent turned out to be very pleasant! We have a very comfortable night. As the sun went down, the temperature cooled and the humidity was not the problem we anticipated! It was pretty comfortable in fact! But despite all the comfort, I had a terrible night not sleeping! Just brain overload for some reason. So...

Sep 25, 2017 - Whitten Park ACE, Fulton, MS

OK, OK here's the deal ! We drove the 450 miles from Augusta, GA going all the way across Georgia then up and all the way across Alabama to the northwest corner to find Red Bay. Upon reaching the Tiffin Motorhome Service Center we find, as expected, that the wait for service is about 2 weeks, and there's no RV spaces available in the Tiffin park. So, a few calls were made to adjacent parks with no joy, so we opted to come 25 miles away to the little town of Fulton Mississippi and stay for a week at an Army Corps of Engineers (ACE) park. Apr 30, 2017 - A Bit Washed Out

A leisurely start to the day with kick stands not up until after 9:30 am. Pretty ride through the Alabama Bankhead National Forest with the temps much nicer.... UNTIL we hit major wind and rain. We road through it for 25 miles or so but gave up just before getting into Tupelo, Mississippi. So, we used excuse #2 for not camping..... too much rain.

Jan 26, 2008 - On The Road Again

From Whitten COE Campground, near Fulton, in NE Mississippi. In my previous posting, I was remiss in not explicitly expressing appreciation to Dwight for his offer & follow-up for us to park the Bus in his driveway while we jaunted to California. Because of his offer & care, we avoided all plumbing damage from the freezing weather that occurred. Dwight, thanks!!!!
