Sep 20, 2011 - Columbus, MS

We're on our way to Arkansas for David's wedding and made a stop in Columbus, MS. Last year we were here at the same time for the Magnolia 100 dirt race at Columbus Speedway. We had so much fun last year we plan to go to the race again. We're staying in a very nice state park, about 20 minutes from the track. Yesterday we went shopping to find the clothes we need for the wedding. Today was just a day of relaxation. The weather has been cool, rainy, and dreary so it's been less than optimal for outdoor activities. A good day to stay in and...

May 8, 2011 - Heading West

On Friday April 29 we drove to Jacksonville, FL for the multi-class high school reunion. It was pronounced as the last for the Class of ’54, but who knows? Thus, we have a white skirt rather than gray and a makeshift hub that will have to be corrected somewhere down the road. In addition, there were a couple of minor flaws in our repair list. With the RV industry quite depressed getting parts quickly can be difficult, often they are on back order....

Jan 26, 2006 - Tenneesee Willliams birth place

Today we visited Columbus, Mississippi the birth place of Tennessee Williams. Our first stop was the local museum now in the former home of his grandparents. Tennessee Williams was born on 26 March 1911 in Columbus , where his grandfather was the rector of St Paul’s Episcopal Church. Young Tom Williams, later Tennessee, and his family lived in the home of his maternal grandparents, the Rev and Mrs Walter Dakin.
