Oct 23, 2014 - On To Byram, MS

We were in no hurry to leave West Memphis, AR this morning, having no desire to fight the rush hour traffic in Memphis, TN. Everything went smoothly except for the road construction areas and rough roads in Jackson, MS. We arrived at Swinging Bridge RV Park right at 1:00 PM, making our time on the road today just 4 ½ hours including the fuel stop. Once we were all set up, we drove the short distance to “Daddio’s Tin Shed BBQ” where we had shared a meal with our friends, Bob & Janet back in 2011. The same owner was here and nothing had...

Nov 14, 2011 - Swinging Bridge RV Park

That pesky wind continued through the night but I didn’t hear it. I guess the stress of driving in that horrible wind yesterday did me in as I fell asleep before 8:30 last night and was up at 4:30 this morning. I remember getting up once during the night but fell right back to sleep when my head hit the pillow again. We’re traveling west and spent Saturday night in Conyers, Georgia. Since there weren’t any campgrounds in the area, we decided to spend the night in Wal-Mart’s parking lot. There was a Mexican restaurant across the parking lot, so we walked to dinner, which turned out to be very good. Then we did some final shopping at Wal-Mart, as we’ll be home in a few days. Since the area was a bit noisy, we decided to set the alarm for 7am and immediately get on the road. We also decided since we got on the road so early, we’d drive 6-7 hours today with...

Nov 3, 2008 - Trip from Pelham AL to Byram, MS

Traveling with Carol, Lou & Beau ............. Our drive from Alabama to Mississippi was uneventful. Looked a little like AL except there were not beautiful lakes to look at. The leaves were very pretty though. I am such a nature/bird lover. The park was in walking distance of a Mexican restaurant, El Sombrero of Byram. We walked over and had the BEST dinner...enough for an extra meal as well. Management told us it was good, and he was so right! Came back to our home on wheels to relax and unwind. We have not gotten used to the change in...
