Apr 17, 2019 - Brandon MS, Goshen Springs Campground

We departed Greenwood LA in the morning of the 17th and headed east on I-20. Through Shreveport, I-20 was in pretty poor shape. Our neighbor at Greenwood had warned us about this, and said he didn’t dare drive over 55 mph. His info was spot on and we found 50 mph was all we cared to do. Brandon, MS is the home of the Ross Barnett Reservoir and we are camped at the Timberlake Campground which may be the nicest campground we have stayed in yet this year. We will be here for the next five days while we explore the capital of Mississippi, Jackson. This is our first visit to Mississippi (and that will now always be shortened to MS) and so far, the roads are much...

May 16, 2008 - Brandon, MS

We arrived in Brandon, MS yesterday and called our friends Jerry and Linda Pelly. They went with us to Alaska last year. Anyway, we planned to stop at their house for a couple days visit. So, we met at Flying J and had lunch and then we went to the Pelly house. It is great seeing them again and we had such a great time when we were together last year. Anyway, we got to their house and got the RV parked and set up. They have a really nice place on the lake. The pictures above are of the lake and the view from our RV. That is a view that you...
