Jun 8, 2005 - Checking out Pass Christian, Long Beach and Gulfport

Paul, Dave, Patricia and Laurie went exploring the small towns east of Waveland. Pass Christian has a big shrimp fleet, and trendy stores selling "holistic, biosynergystic puppy food". Long Beach and Gulfport are pretty little towns right along the beach. We decided to make dinner in our cottage on our enclosed veranda! Dinner was barbeque New York strip loin steak with a red wine reduction sauce, served up by Chef Paul himself.

Jun 6, 2005 - Movin on down to Mississippi

Monday was moving day. We packed up in the morning, headed over to the rental car company where we've rented 2 cars for the week. Weather is cloudy and a bit cooler with rain showers. Driving to Waveland, Mississippi was an adventure with extremely heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. I despise driving on the interstates in the East and Midwest because of the mind-numbing sameness of the swaths they cut out of the forests and prairies....

Homer and the Hornet

Feb 18, 2003 - Biloxi, Mississippi

Well, as of today we are one time zone closer to home! Probably will be on Central Time for the next couple of months. From Pensacola, you can cover 4 states in 4 hours! Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. I never realized how narrow the seacoast areas of Alabama and Mississippi are. We could have been in New Orleans tonight, but we are saving that for a few days, and going to explore AL & MS instead. Before we left Flori-da, though, we had to be reminded of the "da" just one more time. As we left Pensacola, over the large bridge...
