September 27 -28 We left Nashville around 0930 and headed for the Natchez Trace Parkway. I had the route programmed into my GPS so I was asked to take the lead. The traffic was very heavy as we headed west on US 40 because of the professional football game to be played later that morning. We worked our way along the crowded roadway and then turned off US 40 to get onto the Trace. 2015 New York Trip

Today we were successful in finding places to pull out. The pictures are pretty much self explanatory. We crossed two state lines. We were in Alabama for about 30 - 45 minutes. Then we crossed into Mississippi. Campgrounds are very scarce going down this road. After much research we found one that had 50 amp service. The lady said they had plenty of space. As we pulled into the Park we knew it was a bad mistake. Very few spaces were close to level even with the jacks. We took 30 amps in order to be somewhat level. The water boxes were in...

September 28, 2015 Day 49 From mile marker 386 to 198 along the Natchez Trace Back to mile marker 386 where we got off the Trace for the campgrounds is the death and grave site of Meriwether Lewis (1774-1809), who died here under mysterious circumstances. Lewis was a Captain in the US Army, Private Secretary to President Jefferson, Senior Commander for the Lewis and Clark Expedition to find a North-West passage, and Governor of the Territory of Louisiana.
