Sep 13, 2012 - Lazy Day

Today was a “get the chores done” day: clean up the van inside, find a laundromat and do the laundry. Also, I found that I had rather overdone the activity on Tuesday and am really hobbling today, so other than the necessary things, we had a lazy day. Listened to some recorded things about Mozart and Barbara knitted. Unfortunately, she was paying more attention to Mozart than the pattern, so she spent the last half ripping out what she had done in the first half. Oh, well, it’s still a few months until Christmas!

Sep 11, 2012 - Gooseberry and Temperance Falls State Park

This morning we packed up the van and drove over to the visitor's center to see what was available. Decided to walk down a trail to see the falls (beautiful!). Then went further down the trail about another mile to the lakeshore. The trail we were on overlooked the river all the way. We continued on north to Temperance River State Park because it is the only one along the shore with electric hookups, but they were all taken for tonight. So we're in a non-electric site tonight and running the generator, but tomorrow night we're to have the...

Jul 28, 2010 - Back to the USA

Entered the US after driving thru Thunder Bay - felt like we were at the top of the world. Went through customs - interesting process. The border guard had never seen a Vermont tag before - so he was excited about that and then thought the T@B was neat and asked to see inside it. And, he asked to have back window lowered and called Athena by name - she of course barked at him. Spent night at a very nice "resort" along Lake Superior - lots of families and beautiful views of the lake. Next day headed south through Duluth and saw the Tall...
