Jul 13, 2016 - Trying out an ROD park

We decided to try one of our Resorts of Distinction RV Resorts to save a little money and kill a little time, since I have to wait a while to get an appointment with the Dermatologist in Illinois. The wet weather was following us as we traveled a short distance through the farming area of Sothern Minnesota. We passed a town with a Catholic Church named after St. Finbar, which is a saint that I had not heard of before. So being curious, I had to look it up. Here is a brief story of the Irish St. FINBAR. Our campground was nice with full...

Sep 20, 2013 - Hidden Bluffs: Spring Grove, Minnesota

We hit the road on September 20th from our great friends Kevin and LaRita. They live in Watertown, Minnesota on 13 acres and have a great spot for us to hook up when we are there. We had a great time while we stayed at their house and we will really miss them. But we will be back next summer to see everyone again. We followed my son Alex in his RV, Alex was heading to the same area in Southern Minnesota to visit with his friend for a while. That's his set-up behind ours. Alex is pulling the Saturn we had last year as a toad. As we are...

Dec 7, 2008 - Minneapolis to Spring Grove Minnesota 13th to 16th November 2008.

Sylvia’s Comments On the Thursday morning we planned to go into Minneapolis on the bus and walk the short distance to the Hiawatha Light Rail System that would take us to the Mall of America. Our bus pass allows us to travel on any form of public transport in the city. The Mall of America is a super regional shopping mall located in the Twin Cities in Bloomington. It covers 4.2 million square feet with 2.5 million square feet for retail shopping. Now that is a lot of shopping and probably does justice to the phrase ‘shop till you drop’. It...

Jun 18, 2007 - Hidden Bluffs RV Resort, Spring Grove MN Elev 936 ft

Arrived in Spring Grove MN early this afternoon. A very beautiful drive through central and south Wisconsin. It's very hot and humid here. It's air conditioning time! As we were getting settled in, a thunder and lightning storm moved through. This park in nestled in a gorge with hidden bluffs on both sides. At the top of the bluffs are the farm lands. As the storm moved over us, it was quite spectacular to see and hear. The park has several miles of hiking trails within this gorge. We walked all of them, finding places where the park owners...
