We arrive at Jill’s Café in Richmond for breakfast. It is packed and we get a hardy hello from our campground host. The locals are at large tables. I go for a one and a half hour hike on the horse trails. It's a nice walk in the woods. Yes, it would have been better if I had taken a horse but a group has reserved the trails for the weekend and they...

We get a 5:50 a.m. start but the road crew is already working. Can you believe it? We gravel road our way back to Interstate 94 and continue west. Minnesota has a great welcome center with free coffee and cookies! We cross the Mississippi River, which is another milestone for us. We stop in Minneapolis where John gets his lab work done and Tom gets his oil changed. Actually, Tom gets the oil in his car changed. You know what I mean. We make a Camping World stop and head to our campground. The campground is supposed to be 40 minutes away...
