Oct 17, 2014 - Leaving Maple Springs Campground

Monday, October 6, 2014 –Friday, October 17, 2014 We will be leaving our favorite campground today and heading south to Springfield, MO to meet up with Ginny, our #1 daughter, and her friend, Sheila. Then we will all go to Branson for a few days to enjoy the shows there. We found the best apples, River Belle, only grown in MN. They are even better than Honeycrisp. They are crisp, sweet, and tart all at the same time. Delicious for sure!! If you can find them at your store be sure to try them. Some of the time we canned applesauce, enjoyed...

Oct 6, 2014 - Past two weeks at Maple Springs Campground

Monday, September 29, 2014 – Sunday, October 05, 2014 – Preston, MN This time of year John and Doris are not so busy with the campground. We were able to have several meals together and play marbles and jokers with them. Of course the guys have beat the girls at the game till it is embarrassing to mention the times they won. We went out to Boomer’s in Rochester for pizza and met the owner, Don who is friends with Doris, John, and Lois. Lois and Arv met us there. We were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and John and Doris’ 51st...

Jun 9, 2014 - Leaving Maple Springs Campground on Wednesday

Monday, June 2, 2014 – Thursday, June 5, 2014 – Maple Springs Campground near Preston, MN Well, we are still here. This is such a slice of heaven that we hate to leave this campground. We have had potlucks, BBQ, card games, marbles and jokers, golf games for the guys (they found a great golf course at Preston, MN and for $18 they play golf, have a cart, and a candy bar), taking pictures of birds and deer, and lots of visiting and relaxing. We are enjoying asparagus almost once a day while we are here. The campground has a wonderful...

Jun 1, 2014 - Maple Springs Campground

Monday, May 19, 2014 – Middlebury, IN at Fox RV Repair Shop Today the large awning was fixed but when the small awning over the window was to be installed they found the replacement was the wrong size. So Larry Fox ordered another awning so we will be here for a couple more days. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 – Middlebury, IN at Fox RV Repair Shop Lowell and I took a tour of several of the small Amish towns around. There was a giant flea market in Shipshewana. It was the largest we have ever been to. The further back I walked the cheaper the items...

Jun 27, 2009 - Endless Minn

This will be a short entry. We got up and drove down to see the "famous" Corn Palace in Mitchell. It was interesting. They decorate it every year with corn and other organic grasses. The theme is different every year. This year it featured Mt Rushmore. I will post some pictures later. Then we began our trek to the Dells. Well I can tell you that Minn has some lovely farms, more corn than Kansas and is as big as Texas! :) We never thought we would get across the state. The fact that there were 40-50 mph winds did not help. But we finally got...
