Jun 20, 2008 – Friday – Coon Rapids, MN to Onamia, MN This morning we got up and after breakfast went for a grocery run to the Cub Foods store then back to the campground to prepare to leave. We were not in a big hurry but did pull out at 1100 after we stopped at the dump station to unload all of our waste. We had a leisurely drive up Hwy 169 through Elk River and north. Aug 9, 2007 - Mille Lacs Indian Museum

(Continued from previous entry) The Mille Lacs Museum is another of the sites managed by the Minnesota Historical Society. The Museum itself was very enjoyable, but the coup-de-grace was the Four Seasons room within the museum. In the Four Seasons room, they have built activity scenes in a 360-degree panorama, depicting typical activities & housing during each of the four-seasons. The entire interior wall of the room is painted in a back-drop mural, so real & life-like that you can hardly tell where the displays end & the wall begins. The...
