Jun 27, 2017 - Satellite Television

. Hazel and I have been thinking about getting a satellite television system for a while, and after our recent trip to Yellowstone Park, where over the air TV signals were impossible to receive, not only there but at several other places we stayed at along the way, we decided to go ahead with the purchase. Our friend Steve in West Virginia doesn't have a television, says he doesn't like furniture that looks back at him, but I grew up with the device, and for us it is our window on the world. . Besides, seniors are required by law to watch...

Mar 18, 2017 - Television

. I've always been a big television fan. When I was a kid living in North Minneapolis after World War II, my dad bought the first television on the block. I hope they do well.. One fellow I met said that he'd been asked by his neighbor back home just what we all talked about out there on the road while sitting around the campfire? "I told him we talk about our rigs, and how much poop our black...

Jul 21, 2014 - The Warmest Day of 2014 (so far ... )

For the past few days, the Minneapolis television stations have been alerting the public about a "Heat Advisory" for Monday July 21st, with a heat index of 100 to 110 degrees. It is amazing how accurate weather forecasting has become. Hazel and I are down in North Oaks, Minnesota with the motorhome, parked in my daughter's driveway up on the hill. We came down on Sunday afternoon to babysit the grandkids for the week. The plan is simple, we stay in the motorhome, in the morning Hazel goes in to take care of the kids, leaving me to fiddle on...
