Oct 6, 2012 - Hmmm

At the risk of sounding repetitious ... why was it snowing while we walked the dogs this morning??? At least the wind finally gave up! The worst part of the whole ordeal was having to cover the A/S door... the Achilles heel of the whole unit! I guess 30+ mph winds will find a way in.... Otherwise it stayed nice and cozy. ^_^ Life is good! Love to everyone! P & E

Oct 4, 2012 - Hmmmm...

Trying to get a couple of pics without going outside! ha Let's see what words can do.... Several years ago when we first had the A/S we were in Colorado in April. In fact, Philip had to fly back to MN to do our taxes! We were in a great park across a pastureland from Colorado Springs! Pikes Peak was in full view to our west and with a dip in the land, you couldn't even tell there was a city between us! Had some great shots of the Peak in all kinds of weather that month.... up to and including a blizzard that swept in while he was basking in...

Oct 3, 2012 - First leg finished....

Made it to Maple Grove about 6:00... had the A/S worked on at Brainerd and took a different way to our park down here! Fun to be on new roads... and it was shorter! Kids weren't so sure this morning about us leaving but they were excited to get to the park and explore again! We explained about the cold weather coming and I don't know if they believed us or not but they didn't complain! We've made a lounge in the front by opening up the couch and putting a pad on it and lots of pillows.... it wasn't working so well when Lois & Dale stopped...

Aug 23, 2012 - Maple Grove MN

We stayed at the Maple Grove KOA which is convenient to our friends and the places we want to go. When we sold our house in 2004 we stayed there in our truck camper several times. Dan and Joyce Hou are still the working owners and she remembered us. They haven’t changed a bit. Our favorite restaurant on Lake Minnetonka is Lord Fletcher’s, a fixture in Spring Park since 1968. We invited our son Jim’s mother-in-law, Kathy Tapp to join us for dinner the first night of our stay. Of course we all had their famous and delicious walleye. It was a...

Jul 4, 2012 - Happy Fourth of July!!!

Greetings from the LaQuinta here in Brooklyn Park!!! ^_^ With the heat index at a toasty 115 (!) we decided that enough was enough and pulled the plug on the A/S.... No possibility of air conditioner repair for at least 3 weeks and the entire state is out of portable air conditioners!! So here we are... ^_^... Furkids are stretched out on the floor and Phil's bed actually relaxed and not panting! Wow... that was quite a couple of days! The girl at the desk has a house in Florida and she said also that it never gets this hot and sticky where...

Here we are... another 'home away from home'! P is out watching football all day with the grandboys... I could no more sit still that long than I could sing! ha One game at 10 and the other at 1:00. Great day for it... lots of sun and cool breeze. We're in a different lot again... this one is just across the little road from a gigantic weeping willow!! I love the trees down here! The furkids are happy to be on the road it looks like! Lily hasn't 'scratched' to cover her poo since we got to Bemidji. The first time we got out here to go for a...

Jun 25, 2011 - Ode to a Tree!!

Wow was all we could say when we got to this one!! I don't believe we've ever seen a tree whose lower branches were so huge it would take at least two men to reach around them... and that' the secondary lower branches... what a sight! This was just down the road from our KOA park in Rochester. She mentioned the old cemetary to us so we walked down to check it out. Actually didn't even expect to find Civil War graves there let alone the Tree! ^_^ Great area to explore....!! More later... Love you! God Bless! P & E

Jun 24, 2011 - Correction!!!!!

It looked like the 'caption' part of the upload wasn't working quite right when I put the last entry on..... and when I checked it ... Wow! It sure was't . *)* I had kind of cute captions for most of the pictures and on one of the last ones I decided to use "Whoot!" I've never used it and really don't have a clue where is comes from.... BUT... I DID NOT put it on every last photo! ha I tried to remember some of the real captions but...... oh well.... at least you got the 'picture'! ^_^

Jun 23, 2011 - In the quest for adventure.... ^_^

^_^ Only a man dedicated to adventure would tackle driving a 3/4 ton pickup and RV through Minneapolis on 7th Street downtown!!! What a guy! May be the only one in recorded history to try that! ^_^ More pics later of our adventures back at Rochester/Marion KOA! That's a great park... BTW! Love to all... God Bless!!! Wish you were here! Jun 7, 2011 - Red Wing and Wabasha

Our goal today was to travel a scenic route from the town of Red Wing down to Winona. The trip to Red Wing was about one and a half hours then their would be another sixty miles to Winona. The Minneapolis Area today was the hottest place in the nation at 102 degrees so exploring old towns was not fun. On our trip to Red Wing, we crossed into Wisconsin at the point where the St. Croix and the Mississippi come together. This is the point where the Mississippi starts to become the great wide river. We crossed back into Minnesota at Red Wing....

Jun 6, 2011 - At the Mall of America

Today was spent at the huge Mall of America. There are about 500 stores on four levels of mall. In the center is an Amusement Park with several roller coasters, some unusual thrill rides such as a skate board, a Merry-Go-Round, a Ferris Wheel and many rides for the younger set. There is even a pint sized bumper car ride. There is also a Miniature Golf Course and Movie Theaters. The big anchor stores are Macys, Nordstroms, Bloomingdales and Sears. Many of the stores are the regular mall variety but there is an American Girl Store that is two...
