Jul 6, 2012 - The weather, she's a changin'.........

Woke up this morning to a little rain and wind. It was only 68ยบ and a bit chilly. We liked it a lot except it was too cold to go out on the lake. There were white caps and we didn't want to get wet with the cold wind. So instead, we washed a few of the bugs off of the motor home and cleaned up all the WD-40 from the basement handles since Chris was a little liberal with it before we left and it ran down and got our hands greasy every time we opened a bay door. Jul 5, 2012 - Not just another day on the lake.

Today was not just another day at the lake, but it was very fun(ny). This morning there was a change in the weather. After last night's fireworks show we were so tired that we slept in past 7:00. We'd never ridden or driven on Seadoo's before, but that has changed now. We got to ride on and then drive them on the lake today. We really liked it a lot. Donnie tried to get Janice to fall off, but it didn't work. She held on so then she got to ride it afterward. Karen, on the other hand, told him that she would throw up on him if he tried the figure eights and other moves with her on the back, so he was nice to...

Jul 3, 2012 - Lake Itasca, MN to Cousin Donnie's Cabin, MN

Wow!!! What a storm last night. The power was on when we woke up this morning so we had weathered the worst of it. The work crews were in the campground early and had cleared all the roads so cars and motor homes could pass. We took a walk around to see all the devastation in the daylight. It was amazing how many escaped any damage with so many trees snapped over like they were toothpicks. As you can see by the pictures, the park lost a lot of older trees in the storm. We took our time getting ready this morning as we only had a little over...
