Well, as noted in the previous post, yesterday was our day to tour Fargo. We found the city, as well as it’s sister city Moorhead MN on the East bank of the Red River, to be beautiful and very clean. The highlight of the day was the Hjemkomst Nordic Culture Center in Moorhead is where we spent most of our time. Among other beautiful exhibits, we saw two that stole the show; the reproduction of the Hopperstad Stave Church of Norway and the Hjemkomst Viking Ship. Hopperstad Stave Church. The original was built in Norway around 1140....

One Day @ a Time

Jul 27, 2019 - 2 days to cross North Dakota

Mike here. After spending a few days to cross North Dakota (please refer to picture #9) we saw lots of corn and soybeans just as we were told we would. After you look at picture #9 you too can say that you have seen most of North Dakota. Last evening we arrived just East of the North Dakota-Minnesota state line in a great little town called Barnesville. We are going to spend a few days here and tour Fargo today. One Day @ a Time

Sep 20, 2014 - Central Time Time

Today we headed across North Dakota entering the central time zone and finally crossing into Minnesota. Our entire 300+ mile drive was on I-94. It was flat. Even though the passing landscape lacked a lot of interesting features it was not without at least question-provoking one. Almost the entire length of our trip we saw hay bales lining both sides of the highway. Through the magic of our iphone we were able to learn that these were called “trash bales” and were formed by either the state or landowner mowing the tall grass along the side...
