Jun 8, 2019 - Adrian, MN June 4, 2019

After our 2 beautiful nights on the Missouri River, we set off for a 1 night stopover in Adrian, MN. Our drive was once again traveled to the local NPR station and we learned even more about the impact of the flooding and we looked at he farmland more closely. Farmers are doing what they can waiting for the land to dry out. A lot of land has been prepped for planting but the “puddles” are in the way. Planting is increasing but is still way behind. Then there is the whole crop insurance issue. Whether you planted too early and can’t claim or...

Sep 20, 2015 - Wall, SD to Adrian, Minnesota

Another very good day traveling. We got started around 9:00am and headed East. Like I said in the previous post since the campground in Spearfish was full and we found a campground in Wall, SD, that we might have to alter our next scheduled stop. Well since it was only 100 miles to our next stop at Presho, SD. We decided to make it to the next stop which is in Adrian, Minnesota. It made another 300 mile day but going across southern South Dakota on I90 is very straight and mostly flat. After we passed thru the Badlands it was all corn...

Jul 31, 2015 - Rolling the Miles

Our goal is to be in Tennessee by Sunday evening, so we will be putting on as many miles as is safely possible today. We are tired from driving over half the night, so we will have to find a place to camp tonight. Gary and I will be going east on I-94 through North Dakota to Fargo this morning. Later in the day, we took I-29 south to catch I-90 east. We are gradually stair-stepping our way southeast to Tennessee, but also trying to drive through some areas of the country that we've not seen. Just because we have to put on lots of miles...

Thur. Aug. 18th Hit I-80 heading west for Adrian MN with about 150 miles to go. Turned into the camp ground drive and there sat Fran & DJ from Casper. We pull into the campground and here is Pat from Port Huron setting in her camper. We’re here to meet up with Bill & Carolyon, Gene & Marva and Franie and Susie golfing friends from AZ. Along with Pat from MI. and Hap from NE. We were making bets as to Fran & DJ showing up as well and they sure did. Ruthann tries to check in and they say it’s all been paid for. Sep 18, 2007 - Out of Dakota

Tuesday - Sept.18th We're off. After much confindence by Jon and much tongue-biting by me John actually picked the right route to get out of Mr. Rushmore and to I-90 without getting stuck on a dirt road. He did good. ( Butdon't tell him I said that- I'll never hear the end of it). A few miles out of town, we dicided that we wanted to take a smallside-trip to the Badlands which was just 14 miles off of I-90. I'm so glad that we did because the scenery was incredible. So barren, desolate and arid. We only did the notrht to northeast loop, but...
