May 22, 2011 - A Day of "Rest"
We had a great day today. With the world not ending yesterday, we visited Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church today to hear our favorite pastor and friend from Hawaii days, Jonathan Heierman, speak. He is as inspiring as every and it was wonderful sitting in his church again. After a short visit with Jonathan and Debbie, we came back for a day of hiking. Four miles (I know, that's a light weight day) and visit to Pontiac Lake, we relaxed outside looking at the breeze blow through the trees--lovely. Tonight will be low key TV viewing. May 21, 2011 - Milepost 561 - Pontiac Lake, Michigan
A driving day to get above Detroit to set up for a few days. Engine light came on on the truck, so we'll have to deal with that on Monday. Oh, well, at least were here. Camp sites are nice, and surrounding area is lush and green. It'll be nice just to hangout here.Jump to full entry

Our travels around the US would not be complete if we did not stop to see the Blue Bird Wanderlodge that our old friend Hisham from West Bloomfield had recently purchased. Hish is also a pilot, flying a lovely Beech Baron. The Blue Bird is a gem--these babies can carry 300 gallons of fuel (if you fill up when gas is down a few cents, think of the savings! Or even better, try Mexico where diesel is REALLY cheap!) The Blue Bird is a real luxury coach, both inside and out....Jump to full entry
