Just a short report today. I have not had WIFI at the state park so I am playing catch up on the computer. Our nephew, Gus, and his coworker drive to our campground today to go fishing. They rent a pontoon boat. The water is high. They need to get under a bridge to reach Wampler’s Lake. I should have gotten a picture of them lying on the bottom of the pontoon boat to fit under the bridge. Gus catches a small mouth today. John catches a northern. I catch some shuteye. Tomorrow we head south to Ohio. Campground: Walter J. Hayes State Park

Aug 21, 2010 - Onsted, MI

Some days our biorhythms are off. We head to the CVS to renew a prescription. There are no refills left so we will have to wait until Monday and call the doctor’s office. We head to Camping World. As we near the Interstate, we turn onto a road that runs parallel to the Interstate. It is closed. We make up our mind that we will have to take the Interstate. As we get closer, we find road construction and lots of traffic. We decide to skip Camping World. It is too close to Detroit. Detroit is not a city we will explore. We turn back toward...

Aug 20, 2010 - To Onsted, MI

Sorry, I took no pictures today. Today is a travel day. Three deer cross in front of us as we head out to breakfast. They are still in the field when we go back to pick up the trailer. They are still in the field when we leave the park. Further down the road five deer cross in front of us. I get no pictures! I tell John it is because the sign said, “Watch for Bear Crossing!" I can only focus on one thing at a time. The highway is good but it is not exciting. The traffic is not too bad. We put in four hours of driving which is a lot for us....

Aug 21, 2008 - Last day in Zeeland and Moving on

Irish Hills Camping Resort-Onsted, MI Wednesday the 20th.\ I spent a good deal of time today doing more trip planning and working on a problem with the Travel Journal software. We now have the trip nailed down thru the Labor Day weekend, which we will spend near Cooperstown, NY. In the afternoon we went to a local antique mall to look around. Edie found a piece of Corning Ware that goes with some that she collects that has flowers on them. After we left there we went to Sam's club to pick up some supplies. We saw a Steak and Shake...
