May 6, 2013 - Almost home going to LeClaire, IA. (Pickers place)

Hi everyone, Iowa is a long State to cross to the other side, we were traveling on Hwy. 80 but switched to Hwy 30 which is only a two lane but so much nicer with more to see and no semi's, which was nice because we ran into a couple storms. No Desert or Mountains, just kinda boring. When we got to Le Claire Iowa we stayed that night and went to see where they filmed "The American Pickers" One of our favorite shows. It was cool and we got to go in and look around the Shop and take pictures. We did not see Mike, Frank or Danielle, the stars...

May 2, 2013 - Stayed in Glenwood Springs Co last night, 18 deg. this morning

Hi everyone, Of Course I loved Las Vegas but it really has changed, stayed the night there. Went to take pictures of the pawn shop that the "Pawn Stars" film from. That was cool ! I don't think we have been to Vegas for about 10 years. Of Course, When I lived in Calif. went to Vegas a lot, like in the 1960's & 70's. That 's when it was really a great place to visit because you would see stars gambling in casino's or even on the streets but now everything and everyone is guarded. I will say the best way to visit is to fly in and have Hotel...

Jul 22, 2012 - Moving to township park nearby

Sunday, July 22, 2012 Montague, Michigan We continue to enjoy the milder weather here very much. While we were here at the city park, the weather cooled down into the 70s for several days after being 100 the first of the week. We enjoyed going down to Lake Michigan 3-4 times swimming in the lake. It is probably one of the first years the water has been warm enough to enjoy this early in the summer. One day took a driving tour up to Pentwater to see some friends from our Arizona home, and we also used our kayaks in the White River. Some of...

Jul 19, 2012 - West Michigan

Thursday, July 19 Trailway Campground, Montague, MI Our first real all day of rain since we left Arizona. It is a nice rain too and all of Michigan needs this! It has been in the 90s almost everyday in July so no one is complaining today! We needed this and maybe another one or two to get caught up on some things...it is too much fun going to the beach, kayaking and exploring! We are at the campground we enjoyed two years ago next to the Hart-Montague Bike Trail and very close to Lake Michigan. We have taken several bike rides, including a...
