We had breakfast at the casino. Karen and David gambled the $10.00 the casino gave us and left with $4.00 in cash. Someone gave Jeff a $5.00 gambling card and he left with 40 cents. Stopped for lunch at Walmart. Warm and hazy. We hit some rain on the way to Escanaba. We stopped in Ironwood, MI at Walmart. This is a good place to stop because it had security cameras and closed down at 11pm. It was relatively quiet. Today we briefly traveled into Wisconsin (the tip of it) and then reentered Michigan. Aug 3, 2010 - Wisconsin/Michigan

Today is 8/3/10 and we are in Marquette, MI at a casino and leaving tomorrow to go east on Hwy28 to Picture Rocks National Seashore and more. I will back up to 7/26 where we were just outside of Ashland,Wisconsin at the Bad River Casino for a few days and it was FREE w/water & electric. Dan even got to wash the MH & car, he was in his glory. We went to a blueberry festival in the small town of Iron River,WI and needless to say it is great to celebrate with the locals. T's 2010 Wanderings

Aug 13, 2009 - Day 47

Day 47 It was a great day. I got a bit of a late start but the weather was great and the road very easy. If I was to do the ride again I would take the 200, the alternate road, as it isn’t four lanes. North Dakota was a bit of a bust but I did manage to find a sticker in Rugby. Rugby is the geographical center of North America. The sticker is on my windshield. I shaved off my goatee this morning. When I was driving with the half helmut it was going into my mouth and I thought I was going to aspirate and die. I now have a Hulk Hogan...

(Leaving: Grand Rapids, MN - Destination: Ironwood, MI - 233 miles) 05:30 AM Betty wakes us and we are ready for another day and another adventure. Today we will be going to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore near Bayfield, WI. We will be taking a sight-seeing cruise of the islands this afternoon. JD's Vacation 2008

Jun 1, 2006 - Mackinaw City to Bessemer, MI

Left the campground and traveled across the Mackinaw bridge - very impressive. Traveled 314 miles today - long day. Traveled across most of the Upper Peninsula. All along this trip, we have been looking for funny signs and names of different businesses. I think that the restaurant we passed but didn't stop at along the upper peninsula of Michigan will probably have the best name. It was called: U.P.Chuck's. (think about it!) We didn't want to tempt fate by stopping and eating there though. This place is remote!!!! No cell phone or internet...
