From Whispering Valley RV Park – Rapid River, MI (Upper Peninsula) Today we ended our exploration of Delta County considered the crossroads of Michigan’s UP. This south central upper Michigan area is frequently referred to as the “Banana Belt” due to the temperate climate. Much milder than the rest of the Upper Peninsula Delta County averages 50 inches of snowfall per year compared to 200+ inches along the shores of Lake Superior. A snowfall of 50 inches a year is NOT my definition of “Banana Belt” tropical weather……….my bananas like ZERO...
