Jun 20, 2009 - Jeep Jamboree - day 2

Breakfast was at the same time. We got there around 7am, ate, talked to others. It is raining, hard at times, this morning. The 8am mandatory meeting was held inside. We finally left and started our first trail...twists and turns. It was through the woods - tons of mosquitos - even in the rain. Very tight in places. Beautiful drive through lots of mud and water. Lunch was the same thing we had for dinner. It stopped raining at lunch and spent most of the rest of the day misting. This afternoon we did an easy route in Turtle Ridge ORV park....

Breakfast was 6:30a - 8a - we got there around 7a, ate then left to get gas. We had to park the Jeep in line behind our trail guide and wanted to be last in line. We were - the back door trail guide was behind us. A mandatory meeting was held at 8am telling us safety rules. We went to Marble Head through lots of mud and water. We have a great view of the water and islands from the RV. Bad internet signal here - tried all day to get on the internet with no luck. After dinner we went to register for the Jeep Jamboree. Waited to let the initial rush finish and it worked, we didn’t have to wait in line....

Jun 17, 2009 - Drive to Drummond Island, MI

Left after breakfast. Got to the ferry terminal around 12:20 and made it on the 12:40pm ferry - WOW! It was a quick trip and we stayed inside the RV for the trip across the water. Found the RV park - it is a grass/gravel lot. We parked and set up then drove to the visitor center that the 2 young couples camping next to us told us about. The visitor center sent us north to fossil rocks area. It was a nice 4-wheel drive road with lots of water and a few bumps. We met a couple on the road that are also here for the Jeep Jamboree. They followed...
