Another beautiful morning and after deciding NOT to return to Mackinac Island we found ourselves without a plan for the day! But have no fear, I pulled out my “list” of places to see and do around the local area and was more than ready to provide a quick suggestion for explorations to other areas in the Upper Peninsula! Aug 16, 2010 - Day Trip To De Tour, MI

This is our last day on the Upper Peninsula. There is nothing in St. Ignace that appeals to us. We do not want to climb Castle Rock. Let’s take a detour to the Village of De Tour. Stop laughing and get your maps out. There really is a Village of De Tour. We take the Mackinac Trail out of town to avoid the Interstate. We head east on M 134.
