After a summer of health issues for Sue, we were anxious to finally be able to leave West Branch and be on the road, not only for recovery but also for discovery. The first day didn’t go so well. We didn’t get out of town until around 2:00 p.m. and hadn’t gone 50 miles on southbound I-75 when there was a loud explosion and the inside dually tire blew. Jul 24, 2014 - Clio, MI - Christmas in July

(Ron Writing) We left Birch Run this morning and drove a few miles north to Frankenmuth, MI. Frankenmuth was founded in the mid-1800’s by a group of German Lutherans seeking a better life. Since then the small town has evolved into a sort of tourist destination with many hotels, restaurants, and thousands (well maybe dozens) of stores doing their best to get some of the tourists' money. Jun 20, 2011 - To Hell and back in one day!!!

It actually was very pretty around there. About 1 1/2 hours away..not much there except for a souvenir/pizza shop and an ice cream shop. But we had to go so we could say we've been to Hell. There has been some really crappy weather where we were suppose to head next-Iowa! Thought we might get a head start and leave this afternoon, but after we got back from Hell, I looked at the weather and it was even uglier. Tornado actually touched down in Winnebago County, Iowa.
