Depart: Stony Park, Walker, Minnesota Arrive: Van Riper Park, Michigan Mileage at start of day: whoops Mileage at end of day: 23,225 Another drive through beautiful countryside, through Minnesota, Wisconsin and into Michigan. Jul 27, 2011 - Van Riper State Park

Van Riper State Park A couple of days ago we stopped at a roadside rest area and spotted a 5th wheel with South Dakota plates. Wondering if they might be full timers too, we pulled along side and started a conversation. Tom and Nancy Stearns have been full time for about 6 years. Aug 27, 2008 - Champion, MI - Michigamme Shores RV Park

The drive along the southern shore of Lake Superior was beautiful. It was a perfect day, sunny skies, white whispy clouds, temps in the lower 70s, low humidity. We stopped for lunch at a scenic reststop on Autrain Bay. Took a short walk along the beach and watched people horseback riding on the shore. Weight loss update -- Jim -28 lbs and Ingrid -42 lbs The campground is very nice and "interesting" in that the railroad tracks run right through the middle of it. Some days you wake to the whistle blowing about 6 a.m. Other than that, it is...

The drive along spectacular fall color lined highways was uneventful and very comfortable in cool dry weather. We found a camp that dragged us off the highway, and our intended destination in Ishpeming, near the small town of Champion. Michigamme Shores Campground is a beautiful place located right on the north shore of a fairly large lake and in spectacular north woods forest. The Good Sam price of $31.50 is...
