Well, since we were only driving 52 miles today, we didn’t leave until 11:45. It was a bright sunny day driving easily along U. S. 31 north to the Shamrock RV Park in Berrien Springs, MI. WELCOME TO MICHIGAN: 12:23 @ 44 miles As you can see, Berrien Springs is just inside the Indiana/Michigan border about 12 miles to Lake Michigan. I was a little concerned about this park (lot size and location) but it turned out to be a rather nice little community park right along the St. Joseph River. Jul 3, 2010 - New Plans this Year

Well...I guess we did not finish the last trip journal from last year. We did get back from that trip by the way. Now we are getting ready for our trip to Monument, CO. There will be four stops on the way there and four on the way back. Going we will be at Utica, IL, East St. Louis, Il, Topeka, KS and Oakly KS. Coming back we will be taking the northern route thru Nebraska and Iowa. Getting down to the final stages of loading the RV and getting all the little things done before leaving. Joanne is getting very excited.

May 31, 2010 - Memorial Day 2010

The last day of the rally was Memorial Day. Jay left early to go on a bike ride and I went to the final event of the rally, a Memorial Day parade at the fairgrounds. Since many of the people had started to leave the evening before, the fairgrounds was definitely not as crowded as it had been. The parade included an honor guard including flags of all the armed services and the U.S. flag. The Barrien High School Band followed along with a small group of golf carts. The flag was raised to half mast and we heard a great speech from a woman...

May 27, 2010 - G.L.A.S.S. Rally

On Thursday morning, we filled up our water tank and propane tank and headed off about 60 miles south to the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) rally. Although we have attended several national FMCA rallies, this is a regional rally provided by the Great Lakes chapters of FMCA called the G.L.A.S.S. rally, which stands for Great Lakes Area Spring Spree. We had heard good things about this event from friends who have attended in the past and we found them to be extremely organized when we entered the fairgrounds in Berrien Springs, MI. In...
