Sep 17, 2012 - Roadtrek Rally
The hosts for the fall Roadtrek International Chapter rally certainly chose a lovely campground for the occasion! The Normandy Farms Campground is located just outside Foxboro, Massachusetts. It is lovely campground, well maintained, friendly staff, and beautiful landscaping. The rally consisted of regional meetings, Bocce tournament, hot dog roast and root beer floats, catered meals, excursions into Foxboro and Boston, plenty of time to socialize, and a chapter business meeting. We had a great time and we would recommend this campground to...

Sep 6, 2012 - Attleboro Massachusetts Area - to Find More Family
Tuesday - 9/4: We dodged a few rain showers as we packed up and headed to our next destination, Normandy Farms Family Campground in Foxboro, MA. We were a bit apprehensive as to this next stop, as our selection of campsites had been rather slim and the guidebooks clearly made this one out to be VERY big ... and VERY busy!! So much for being spoiled with the laid back days in Cape Cod. The great weather had finally played out and we drove most of the way in clouds and showers. When we hit Foxboro, it was downright pouring, but as we entered...

Jun 8, 2012 - Massachusetts
Holy Cow! I awoke today to discover that I had slept 12 ½ hours. I can’t recall any time in my life that I have slept that many consecutive hours ~ not even in the “party years”. Was I tired or what?!?!? Being parked deep in the woods, away from highway noise, with only the sounds of nature and no close neighbors, was conducive to getting some much-needed, restorative sleep. I met up with Suzy and her girls ~ Gabby (3) and Sydney (10 months) ~ late in the afternoon at her home in Weymouth. We set off to Gabby’s soccer practice only to...

At 0545 we left Clarksboro, New Jersey and we took a new route and a great deal of the route we had never taken before. The sun was just struggling to rise as we left the campground and the sky was somewhat overcast and the temperatures cool. We refueled at the last service plaza in New Jersey and we are glad we did as the diesel fuel prices in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts were no less than $4.13 where the price on the Garden State Parkway was, hardly a bargain but significantly less, $3.95. The roads were a combination of...

First, I have included a picture of the place we ate dinner at while in Mystic, CT. It was the Mystic Pizza and I didn't even know it was famous from a movie of the same name. Next day we hit the road and 3 of us rigs drove to Foxboro, MA and got settled in Normandy Farms Resort. It is probably one of the best rv parks we have been in. A little to pricey for us. First day was just settling in and getting some rest. We are within throwing distance of Boston. So the next day we drove the truck in and searched cemeteries for my mothers grave....

Sep 20, 2009 - Foxboro, MA
We had an easy drive today, about 135 miles, from south of Portland, ME to Foxboro on the south side of Boston. We specifically planned to drive on Sunday in hopes of finding lighter and more sane traffic on I-95. We waited until check-out time to depart because our new campground stated check-in was 3 p.m.....way too late for us to be on the road normally. Our trek through Maine was on turnpike and the toll wasn't too bad. Then a short stretch through New Hampshire brought us to Massachusetts, the Bay State. We stopped at the Visitor...

Mar 14, 2009 - Normandy Farms Top 21 in our Backyard
Went to Normandy Farms campground today. Just wanted to do a quick overnight and check out this great campground that is right down the street. It is 45/night in off season. It is open year round and more important they have activities year round. I would like to come here for New Years Eve this year. Not much in the woods, but it is a nice place. It had 4 pools (1 indoors) and 2 hot tubs (again 1 indoors).

We arrived Tuesday at Normandy Farms Camping Resort. It is a resort indeed with 4 swimming pools, hot tubs, and all kinds of activities. They even had a concierge service to help plan our visit! Its a lot pricer than the other campgrounds we have stayed at.On Wednesday, we took the train into Boston. We got off at Boston Commons at the start of the 2.5 mile Freedom Trail. We signed up for a walking tour. Our costumed guide was James Otis (a patriot from the 1700's). He was very good and informative. We toured 12 of the 16 stops on the...

Oct 2, 2008 - A Little of Massachusetts
Because we had to extend our time in Maine in order to have another leg x-ray, our stay in Massachusetts was cute short. However, it was relaxing and enjoyable. Our MA campground was the largest and plushest we have stayed in since beginning our journey. It was called Normandy Farms; the farm was originally established in the mid-1700s. It has been a campground for over 35 years. It held over 400 units, and each site had an evergreen, a deciduous, and 2 flowering trees. If it had been the right time of year, our magnolia and rose-of-sharon...

Damp, cool weather arrived on Saturday, which made for a perfect pajama day. Wagner always feels like he's getting away with something if he gets to spend the entire day in his pajamas. The rain tapered off but it was still drizzling while we packed up and headed towards Boston. Fortunately, it cleared during our drive and we were left with just the cool air when we arrived at Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort. This is a really large, clean park with lots of amenities including an indoor pool and hot tub (which is always a treat). We got...

May 22, 2007 - Down Time in Camper's Paradise
Another myth bites the dust! I remember reading somewhere that your sense of smell diminishes as you get older. I honestly thought that was the reason I could no longer conjure up the smell of fresh, clean air on what seemed to be crisp mornings back in Southern California. Wrong! There IS NO fresh clean air in Southern California. I took Edison for a walk early this morning and was startled at the "smell". The air smelled exactly as I remembered it from my childhood. I could really get to like this. Were it not for family and friends back...
