As we dove north through Connecticut we decided to avoid the ugly congested interstate highways and travel via secondary quiet scenic routes. Sturbridge was just a stopping point on our way to Boston but the motel we stayed at did feature a stunning balcony view of the lake.

Jul 17, 2006 - Amber's Journey to Maine

We all woke up at 6am to begin our journey. We traveled to Tom's of Maine which offers a Natural Toothpaste Factory Tour (27 Community Drive, Sanford, ME 04073; 1800-367-8667). Grace took us to a rock pit about 10 minutes from where we wanted to be (there are two Community Drives in the same town!). The tour was interesting and educational. Amber made a floss box and we watched them make Apricot toothpaste and lavender deodorant. Amber's favorite part was getting the free strawberry toothpaste at the end of the tour. Jun 28, 2006 - David And I Arrive Home

It was raining again and everyone stayed inside. This morning Jeremy and Samantha made all of us pancakes for breakfast. We packed up, said our goodbyes, and headed to Woodstock. It was so nice to be home. Our gardens were overgrown and inside the house we had lots of dead ants, but overall it looked wonderful. Our friends Curt and Mary had been keeping the leaves raked and our decks clean of debris. We spent the day cleaning, went out for a nice dinner and went grocery shopping. TTFN

Jan 14, 2006 - Our Newmar Kountry Star

We purchased our 2003 Newmar Kountry Star,fifth wheel,in October of 2005.We plan on traveling the country with it as we slip into our retirement mode.Winter's will be spent in Texas and Arizona,our summer's will be spent on Prince Edward Island and every where in between.

Jun 28, 2005 - College Park, MD to Sturbridge, MA

June 28, 2005 (Tuesday) Today we traveled from College Park, MD to Sturbridge, MA. It should have been about 375 miles, but we made over 400 miles out of it. Have I mentioned I want a GPS? I was still sick, so Nancy drove most of the way. Mapquest gave us bad directions (didn't move us to #195) so we ended up driving the wrong way for about 15 miles. We had reservations (prepaid) in Sturbridge for last night and tonight. We needed to be in Sturbridge by 10:00 to get in to the gated RV Park. Until we hit the New York City traffic,...
