After another fairly short travel day, we arrived at the Fort Meade FamCamp and got all settled in for the next month. Can’t wait to start visiting family and friends! We spent plenty of time with Chris’s sister, Karen, and had a ball. Home-cooked dinners, visiting our nephew and his family, just hanging out. Love the pics of Karen’s grandkids – they are so darn cute! Life is good! Add to that spending some quality time with our son at his place in Washington, DC, and that made this trip just perfect! May 26, 2009 - Fort Meade, MD

We finally had some better weather for our trip up I-95 to Fort Meade, MD. We had a wonderful two week stay visiting Chris’s sister, Karen and her family. And since our son lives in Washington, DC, we were able to visit him again from the northern side of the city! What fun. We rode the Metro into DC to visit Arlington National Cemetery, particularly JFK’s grave, and to watch the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Our Great Adventure

Apr 28, 2008 - Fort Meade, MD

We made the loooong trek (86 miles!) up to Fort Meade, MD, so we could spend time with Chris's sister, Karen, and her family. You may recognize Karen and her son, Randy, from our travels to Deming, NM last September to visit Chris's parents. Now we have the rest of the family: Randy, his lovely wife Beth, and beautiful daughter Kendall. She's a pistol!
