Jan 16, 2009 - Leaving Home and the Cold (We Thought)

We departed home this morning at 8:06 am. The temperature was 17 degrees and the wind was blowing at least 20 mph. This turned out to be a headwind for much of the days driving. Although the weather was cold the driving conditions were good and we had no precipitation. We headed South crossing into Charles county on MD235 to hit US 301 and cross the Potomac River. We continued to I95 the got on I64 to I81 South. The GPS indicated the faster route was to go around the Washington beltway to I66 to I81, but we greatly prefer the US 301 route...
