(Ron Writing) Elena made ham & vegetable omelets and pineapple biscuits for breakfast. The biscuits had chunks of pineapple in them – all very delicious. After doing some chores around the house we left the campground at noon. We drove into Quebec City and made a stop at Costco for some food and propane. I’m still surprised that Costco in Canada sells propane for so much less than anyone else. In fact today’s purchase at $2.17/gal US was the least we’ve paid since we started full-timing. Jul 28, 2008 - Moxie Falls Near The Forks, Maine
We set off for Moxie Falls following our GPS directions and went north up along the west edge of Moosehead Lake. We came to a dirt road called Milliken Farm Road and after going down the road for one mile and coming across a sign that said it was a private road, Lee turned around we headed south the 17 miles we had gone and back to Greenville on Highway 16. Then we drove 25 miles back the way we had come from Trenton on Highway Highway 16 and then another 52 miles on Highway 201. Jul 15, 2008 - Whitewater Rafting in Northwestern Maine
We bade goodbye to our generous hosts, Velia and Joe, on Monday morning and headed off the Cape, our next destination: northwestern Maine. After stopping in Portland so I could visit a walk in clinic to have an exam and get some medicine for an ear infection that had crept in during the past week, we traveled north on scenic route 201 past Skowhegan, arriving by mid afternoon at The Forks, a non-village on scenic route 201.
