Aug 24, 2008 - Southport!!

Got up early this morning and had coffee then went to chat to Peggy and Jack. Jane came over too and we ended up spending over an hour there which was nice. We left at about 12.15pm to make our way to Southport!!! Another beautiful campsite on another beautiful bay. Southport is an island jutting out just beyond the "big" town of Boothbay Harbor. Two relaxing days during a heat wave in Maine! Just outside the the town of Freeport, another fantastic campsite right on Casco Bay. The weather has been incredible lately, with record highs set in the area today. WE MADE IT to Lynda's in Southport, ME. Its been a few years and it sure was great to see her! We have a super parking spot with a view of the ocean. I need to buy a longer water hose so we can hook up to water. I'll be able to dump our waste tanks right into her septic system. We're going to be here for a week plus. Hopefully, we'll be able to take a few excursions to see some of the sights and refresh our old memories. The mileage from San Jose to Southport was 4334 miles. Our mileage was about 9 miles to the gallon, probably a little...
