Jul 4, 2018 - Reversing Falls

We stayed another day at Cobscook since we figured the 4th wouldn't be a good day to try to find a place. We drove back towards Eastport and turned off to go to Sipps Preserve to go hike. We took about a mile hike along the shore and could see the water. After that we drove over to Reversing Falls and hiked down to the viewpoint. Amazing current and rapids on the incoming tides. Saw a seal jump and then disappear in the rapids. We headed back towards the campground and stopped at the boat ramp to see the lobster boats in the bay. Great...

Aug 2, 2015 - Cobscook sp

We traveled north up towards Baxter sp on a washboard road for miles only to come to a stop sign and made what we thought was the logical choice to Baxter. Another bunch of miles led us to millinocket on bad roads. Somehow you can miss the road if you come in from the Spencer lake area. We did see Mt Katadin which is a very impressive mtn. We stopped and watched rafters and kayakers on the penobscot river. Found our way to cobscook sp and they only had a site off the bay despite tons of tent sites (which a truck camper can handle) on the...

Jun 22, 2007 - Cobscook Bay

We spent a relaxing few days at the ocean after school ended in June. Thanks to a lucky bid at an auction, we could afford to rent this cabin with the use of kayaks. We did some kayaking in Cobscook Bay, read some books, went for some walks on the trails, and went out to eat for seafood in Eastport. It was a much needed rest. The biggest adventure was that we broke the hammock---ouch!
