Jul 5, 2020 - Getting back into a Groove!
Sunday July 5, Day 2 Not exactly in a rush to leave our sweet little comfy motel this morning!! That anxiety feeling again slowed me down, hard to leave the comforts behind! This weather must be a typical start to a Maine day when you are on the coast; gray, foggy and cool. Yesterday started out this way and it turned into a gorgeous day so I was encouraged, the pavement was dry and that was a good thing. We had to travel down the main highway for about 10 miles before we were able to get onto "the road less traveled". Traffic turned out to...Jump to full entry
Jun 9, 2019 - Sunday Morning Pancake Breakfast
We walked up to the activity center for 7:00 Saturday night ice cream social after we gulped down our dinner. Almost forgot about the social! Can't miss free ice cream! Later followed with a game of hoot -n- holler. I declined since we were informed it could take up to 2 hours or longer. Paul stayed to play the card game & learn how in order to teach our campers group. I wanted to get back to the bus since we planned on leaving Sunday morning. I showered & did some blogging & put things away to prep for our departure. (it was about a 2 hour...Jump to full entry
Jun 7, 2019 - On Top of A Mountain!
Morning temps were cool again as usual. High 58 then the afternoon in the 70's.I have noticed that Maine is having their spring bloom of flowers now. Where as ours back home have gone from spring blooms to the begining of summer blooms. Daffiodils are just blooming here at the RV park near the office. We drove up to Cadillac Mountain today, Located on Mount Desert Island within Acadia National Park. Elevation 1.530. In the summer season it' know as the first place in the U.S. to see the sunrise. The trails are paved so it makes for easy...Jump to full entry

WOW! what a late night last night! After we arrived here & got settled in, we had a late dinner. Thank goodness for left over chinese food that we ate around 9:00 pm. It rained all through the night & on into the morning till about 11 am. Since that made for a good time to be inside, Paul did more work management & I got the laundry done. It sure is nice to have a...Jump to full entry

We have arrived at our new home in Orland, Maine. We plan to spend our remaining time here at Shady Oaks for the balance of our time in Maine. Shady Oaks is a quaint privately owned campground which is within driving distance to many of our favorite Maine towns. We plan to take day trips in the P.T. Cruiser and take plenty of pictures. Sep 13, 2012 - SHOPing, sort of
We spent the entire morning at the RV shop getting some work on nagging little things with our camper. Nothing big but it took 4 hours and the entire morning. Next we need to do some banking. We use Wells Fargo and honestly I thought they were nation wide. Perhaps it's because of the routes we take or the places we visit but we have not seen one in the last 4 states we have been in. Next was lunch at Mickey D's and we read where there was a huge statue of Paul Bunyan which was walkable from McDonald's. Alas we found it wasn't because there...Jump to full entry
