Aug 7, 2013 - Evicted from our RV site

We were planning a leisurely day of heading to the state park, produce shopping and packing. Then the knock on the door was heard. Conrad was standing outside...asking when we were leaving...said the new guy wanted the spot. SO, we looked at PEP and he said we were leaving tomorrow by his memory. His memory is failing...we packed quickly...pulled out and called to find somewhere that would take us for the night. We found the Pumpkin Patch RV Resort in Hermon, ME. about 129 miles from Naples. It was a great find and an amazing restaurant...

Sep 19, 2012 - How Time Flies When You Aren't Watching the Calendar!!

Saturday 9/15 - Wednesday 9/19: For the past 4-5 days we have just been "hanging out" in the "Lakes Region" of Maine. Again, we are WOWED by the scenery and the weather has been beautiful ... but beginning to get a bit chilly (low 70s by day/ mid 40s by night). We have spent this time at the Naples Family Campground, which sits just between Long Lake and Sebago Lake. We have taken a couple of drives, but for the most part have just put our feet back and done some real R & R ... so don't have too many pictures to offer:-( As we left Bar...

Aug 25, 2009 - A Spur of the Moment Trip to Maine

Last week we reached another milestone in our preparations to leave on our trip around the US of A. We closed on our house next door in Marion. That was a relief. It took lots of work to figure out what to do with all of our stuff. How in the world do we accumulate so much stuff? We did throw out things like old yearbooks from high school and college because we don't have much storage in the house we live in. I suppose some people could not do that but we both felt far enough away from those days that the yearbooks did not have a lot of...

Aug 9, 2007 - Naples, ME & Casco, ME

Another 2 hr drive took us a little north of the Sebago Lake area to Naples.... Naples, ME. We found one campground that had an opening for our size RV there. After setting up we went to Casco to see Ellen & Jim Macklin, our friends from St Mary's, MD also. (They lived in Esperanza where we lived before we went to Italy.) We got to visit with both of them for a little while. They have Lake Pleasant House B&B & of course the summer season is busy for them. Fortunately, since this is a Thur. they could spend some time with us, although Jim...
