Sep 15, 2013 - to Canaan Me; 20/275

130915-Sun-75393-We drove 164 miles. Today we ate pancakes and bacon at the KOA that we were staying at. Then we went up the Mt. Washington Cog Railway. We went up on the green car with the red biodiesel engine and going down we were in the purple car with a biodiesel engine. Boy it was a great, clear day. After that we drove from New Hampshire to Maine. Now we are in a KOA in Canaan ME. We got here about 6:30pm

Sep 12, 2011 - Canaan, Maine

Another beautiful day. We had enjoyed Eastport so much that we really hated to leave, but we know we are headed to more pretty places. We drove north to Calais, Maine, on US1, then headed west toward Bangor, Maine, on ME 9. We discovered there are few east/west roads in Maine, and north of where we were driving is mostly undeveloped. There were only a few little settlements on the trip between Calais and Bangor, but the countryside was beautiful. We saw a sign that warned of moose for the next 17 miles. How do they train the moose to cross...

NewEngland2011

Aug 14, 2008 - Maine-ly back on the road

After a couple of weeks in Ottawa, we're back on the road again heading generally east. Our route today took us through Montreal and Sherbrooke, Quebec and into Maine where the roads were quite a bit smoother (at least compared to the Sherbrooke to the border leg) and the gas was quite a bit cheaper. Roaming through 2008

Jul 1, 2008 - Rumney, NH, to Canaan, ME

This trip was very pleasant and provided several opportunities to see more of the beautiful New England greenery - but, except for off in the distance, no moose! This week was definitely a "standdown" week. With the exception of a trip to Wal-Mart, the local Dunkin' Donuts, and the local superette, we stayed at the campground - a KOA that we will NOT retun to! The "whys?" are not important - let's just say that in over a year fulltiming, we have never been anywhere less friendly. We left a day early and are happy we did! Ok, enough of that...

Our Great Adventure

Sep 22, 2007 - Cleaning; Canaan, Maine

Saturday-Monday September 22-24, 2007 Saturday-Sunday September 22-23, 2007 Rick went to the post office and his medications were there. We have found it interesting that his medications always come first even though I order them at the same time. He then to St. Agatha to find some small flying insect spray. It was really buggy in Sinclair and small flying bugs had been getting in the motorhome when we opened the door. He couldn't find anything that would be safe for Romeo to breathe. Then Rick vacuumed the car and wiped down the dashboard,...
