Aug 24, 2012 - Auburn, Maine - Building Furniture

Don't know if I've mentioned, but one of the books we rely on in our travels is "Watch it Made in the USA". It lists factory tours all across the USA. Jim loves factory tours. One I'd found in the book was Thomas Moser furniture builders in Auburn, ME. So he and I were up and off to Auburn, about an hour drive from Scarborough. The L.L.Bean campus (it looks like one) has four different buildings in a nicely landscaped area, plus an outlet store about a block away in a new complex. The staff in the store were amazing -...

They are both small towns across the river from each other, but very connected. The river between was called the Androscoggin. Our drive from Augusta to Lewiston was a short one. Found a Walmart to leave the home and explore a bit. We were not sure if we were staying or not. Found ourselves at the festival site along with a lot of other people. It was a pretty...
