So I've started a blog. While not actually traveling yet, I ran across this website and decided I might as well act as though I might actually get to travel at some point in time! Once we finally begin our adventures, this will be an avenue to let everyone know where we are, what we are doing, where we plan to go next, introduce you to the people we meet along the way and post photos. We are vain enough to think that you might actually be interested in our lives and have included you in our favorite people list. So this is the beginning.....

Apr 19, 2011 - At last - Louisiana
Finally, after 2 previous attempts, we have made it to Louisiana and are so looking forward to a visit that may extend for six weeks or more. This state has so much to see and do. We will concentrate on wildlife new to us and history and the different cultures. Our drive from the Jefferson, TX area was so uneventful as to be boring and I guess that’s just what we like. Most of our 230 miles drive was on US-171 that we picked up in Shreveport where we had stopped at the Visitor’s Center to pick up some great information. I believe this...

Apr 6, 2009 - Still Here with the Mudbugs
We are still in Louisiana. About 50 miles from Westlake our F550 seemed to die for a second and the SEL (service engine light) came on. With all the computer stuff on engine's I have no idea what to do. The truck seemed to run OK but what made it die for that second. It also happened a couple days ago so now Judy wants it checked out before we leave. I don't blame her for wanting it checked out because it can be a long way between point A and point B in Texas.
