May 29, 2019 - Texas to Louisiana

No free breakfast for us, they had a SMALL one but there was a donut shop across the street and we have been wanting fresh donut so we went there, then back to hotel packed the car and was on the road about 8:00 it was 77 degrees, so the temperature is going up, traveled again on I-10 stopped in San Antonio to eat at Benjamins Mexican Restaurant, we went there with Bo and Judy when we were through here and it was so good we had to go back especially since it wasn't that far out of our way. Mar 8, 2013 - Old People Day

Just a leisurely say around day with bright sun and temps in the low 70s. Got some travel prep done. Picked up some Cajun foods to travel with us and our newest cookbooks. Made some gumbo and Lin says it gets a passing grade. Another Cajun music night and still no videos.

Mar 1, 2013 - A Musical Surprise

Sometimes I do things just to keep my wife happy, and tonight was one of those times, but what a rewarding experience it was. When we were in the tourist information center in Scott earlier this week, the lady mentioned that on Friday nights a group of amateur musicians gather at the center for a Cajun Jam session and anyone who wants to listen is welcome. The RV Park in Vidalia had a great location. It was on the Mississippi River. We sat last night in our RV and watched the river traffic go by. If we had a better site, we would have stayed several days. Instead, we move on. Back in civilization, we prepare for traffic. We are pleasantly surprised that Route 61 is an easy drive and I continue to admire the wildflowers. At Baton Rouge, we get on I10. It is very scenic for an Interstate but it is still an Interstate.
